The secret life of green peppers - C&C welcome

Hi Richard,

They both seem overexposed a tad.

I went and held a green pepper up to my monitor and it agreed with me, damn intelligent those green peppers.

Morris,

Thanks for the comments. I agree about the sharpness. I used a tripod and a remote but it is possible that the shutter slap may have reduced the sharpness a bit since the centre column of the tripod was fully extended. With a heavy geared head and a macro rail on the end, any vibration may cause this, I think. Next time I'll extend the legs more and lower the column.

Thanks,

Richard

I would agree. The photos were actually somewhat underexposed but I applied exposure compensation in Capture NX. While no highlights were blown, I think I still over did it. I guess the histogram doesn't tell the whole story.

Thanks for the comments,

Richard

Hi Richard,

My red pepper says that now looks more like his friend the green pepper.

It looks sharper as well.

Your images are no longer available. There is a Flickr message instead. Did you remove them? I was just wondering because I've seen this before with Flickr on this forum.

When you see the 'no longer available' message it is the result of one of two actions.

Either the first upload was deleted altogether, or it was replaced. When you replace an image the flickr address for the page with all the other information remains the same, but the new image is given a new file name, so external links are no longer valid.

So, if you replace a flickr image on a current thread on here it is worth posting a fresh link so that people can still view it.

Image comments:

I don't care for your tight crop image, technically OK, but I don't find it interesting. The second one is far more to my taste - slightly tight crop on the left, and the stalk could have done with a make-over before you shot, but nice light and overall composition.
