Hi Guys,

Could somebody tell me how to keep track of the number of pictures taken on the new D300? Is there a picture count option embedded somewhere in the menu/or submenu??

Sorry, this may sound a stupid question but Im new user of this beast! I'm sure it will take me a while to get familiar with the "impressive" customized menu options.

Thanks

Use this link to download an Exif program called Opanda and click on download 1. It's free. You will get two programs but the one you want to use is called Opanda Iexf 2.3. Use it to open the last photo you took and view the exif data. Towards the bottom it will show you the total number of shutter actuations the camera has taken. This may differ from the DSC_xxxx shown on your photo if you did not use an empty formatted card for the first shot.

I got the EXIF Viewer to work on Mac/ Mozilla web browser. It displays all the Shooting Data. However, I still can not see the number of shots taken with the Camera since day 1 !!!

Hi Ray

The reveal Software works smooth on Mac.Thanks for sharing.
But I'm still unable to find the magic number showing number of pictures taken.
Am I missing something ???

It's under "Details/ Nikon3 Tags," and is called "Shutter Count."
