Colour or Black and White? (cc)

Colour - but see my recent reply to your previous thread which will go some of the way to explain my reason why as I've promised not to nag you on this issue.

Then again.. to simplify - unless you are going to pp black and white bring out the best in a composition, colour will more often than not be a more acceptable compromise.

Even though I'm a sucker for b&w (it's sexy ;) ), I don't see much of a reaon for b&w here. I like the exposure, really good, nice sky color and detail on main building.

Definitely the B&W photo, it looks really nice. Nice Job!

Here's a quick comparison of two conversions.

The top one darkens blues and lightens reds

The bottom one does the opposite

The middle one is a combination with the top layer reduced in transparency - I think this will effectively be a straight 'unfiltered' conversion, or at least it would be if the transparency is 50% and the two conversions truly opposite... its all about options.

What I'm trying to demonstrate is how pp conversions gives you options. OK, you could do this with the camera with separate exposures - but I see this stage as merely a starting point - its where you go from here that makes the difference.
