Noise upon shutting down

Hi all,

I recently purchased an Olympus E-510, and having been enjoying taking photos for the past two weeks. a couple days ago I started hearing a low frequency rumbling sound (not unlike the sound the antidust system makes) every time I turn the camera off. This is a source of great concern as well as frustration.

Has anyone encountered such a phenomenon? Does anyone have solution or recommendation?

Check the manual... It is normal if you shut the camera off and have IS turned on at the time.

It is perfectly normal - its the in-body stabilzer turning off (re-parking the sensor)

If it really bothers you, just turn off the IS on the camera.

(IS button, then OFF)

I also make "a low frequency rumbling sound" "upon shutting down" (of course)after I've had to many beers.
