7d probblems

Hello all!

This past week I have had a shutter problem with my 7d. I just got a Sigma 28 – 300. I have had the shutter lock and freeze up and not do anything!

One time I just tuned it off and worked just fine. Then a few days later (Last night) it happened agine. This time I had to take the battery out to get it to fire back up! Any one have this happen???? I am wondering if it is something the lens is doing! Never had this happen with any other lens I have. Any one???

I seem to recall something similar happening to someone else with a Sigma lens. I wouldn't put it back on. Contact Sigma, it might need to be rechipped.

your problem sounds familiar to me as it seems to be the same that my 7D started to show last year in march. But there was no relation with the lens. It was really a defective shutter and it had to be replaced. My 7D returned to normal operation after such a "freezing" after waiting some hours. Though simply switching it off or removing the battery never brought it back to life. If yours does the problem may be different and related with the lens. Yet the problem with the shutter is a known problem. In my case things got still worse as AS finally was affected too and both systems, shutter and AS had to be replaced.

I had used the camera today and works just as it did when It was new! I visited the sony site and was pleased to see that they offered a flat rate repair charge. any one ever have to have a shutter replaced????

I had my 5D shutter & AS repaired under warranty.
Precision did the work, and it has been working fine since.

9,000 pictures since the repair, and still working.

It was on the 5D, but should be very similar.

Sounds like a variation of the first black frame problem. My 7D had similair issues and was repaired under warranty.

First black frame is a design error and is always repaired under warranty on the cost of KonicaMinolta, it does not matter how old your camera is.

Just send it in for repair and say it has the first black frame problem.
