Why I Like This Forum

Hmm, sorry about that. I've been sort of limited in my access with Dad in the hospital. I haven't devoted my full time to the messages. I check in and look around some.

Over on the Canon Forum they seem to be wondering why they are
there???
Boy, that guy had a bug up his butt. Talk about venting.
We have a great bunch of folks here who share a like interest in
photography using Olympus cameras, willing to help, quick to
respond, have different views, funny, sensitive, bold, creative and
open to new ideas.
I joined this forum about 6 months ago. The things I have learned
from the people here has vastly improved my digital photography &
PS skills.

But sometimes I do get a little frustrated here. There has been
times I have posted with little response.
I must agree here totally Barbara,Dwight could take a picture of a beer can in a gutter and get 15-25 responses (not to take anything away from the natural born photographer that you are,a real talent) but some of my pictures I think went un-appreciated. A picture should be judged on it's own merits, not on whether that person has praisied your work.

Others can post here and
get 20 responses on the thread in no time. I always make sure when
I see little or no responses to a post - I respond back.

The people on this forum are upbeat, knowledgable and humorous.
Thank you all.

I loved your post. LOL.
Juli,

Glad you enjoyed it.

I won't stand here ...uh... ok sit here, and lie to you... I was going for the humor angle with my post.

BUT

(big BUTT)

It's all true!

I am going absolutely crazy trying to figure out who's right about those darn lenses.

The only thing that's kept me from grabbing my uzi, putting it in continous mode, loading up a 128 meg card and shooting myself in the head with it is the fact that unless the click click click deafens me I doubt the camera'll be able to put me out of my misery.

That and the exposure's would be all wrong... unless I went and died my skin 18% gray, that is :-P

Due to the traffic here it is completely acceptable to bump up a message after a day...
I for one would love to see it....

There are times that I can spend a full day working on my photos and check in here during the day...other times I might be busy on the road or visiting a friend...during those times I might miss it altogether.
Try to be specific in your thread line. I think that might help.
It was my last POTD and only Lucy responded. Someone else got one
too that day and received numerous responses. Both were posted at
the same time.

I keep coming back because I like the desserts ... especially the apple pie. The salads are not too bad but the ranch dressing is a tad bit to tangy. The t-bones are superior to most restaurants and the ribs are out of this world.

I discovered this site 11 months ago when I was researching the C-700. I ultimately threw away my kodak pocket instamatic, bought the C-700 and haven't looked back. This site has continued to fuel my new-found enthusiasm. I agree, this does have the feel of a "family" forum!

RichO,

I like this forum because it offers a nice balance of topics. There is a little something here for us all. We have tech-talk. We have Olympus talk. We have digital photography talk. We've got general photography talk. We have great photographs begging to be critiqued. And we have OT topics of interest to anyone with a computer, or internet access, or credit card, or shopped at Best Buys, etc.

But even more importantly, we have all of this variety of talk, but conducted by a group of people who are truly the cream of the crop on the internet! We have formed this internet community of individuals who are passionate about photography and concerned about each other. It is a great place and it does feel like home!

Thanks to Phil for so gratiously hosting the site and thanks to all who have made the forum what it is! Our forum SHOULD be the envy of the other forums!

I browse this forum daily and never fail to be in awe of the stunning photography, the willingness of talented people to help us novices, and the friendly attitude of most everyone. Many of you seem to have a second hobby of helping others. It is greatly appreciated.

Rich,

Just so you don't think that your digital art goes unnoticed - I like it!

I quick search through my stuff reminded me of these two:

I know I have more hidden around here somewhere...probably best they remain in obscurity! lol

Tata,

:)
