The 950 is not bad, but the 5000 is easily a better camera...but
not yet perfect. I recently shot a formal group using a hasselblad,
and then took a quick hand-held shot with a 5000. The digital image
was suprisingly good...and it was not a tiff file...and at a4 print
size was sharp as a tack. I still believe the firmware compresses
the image files too much and should be re-written.

5000 the best image yet. Setimental favorate is the 990

Ok, I'll throw in my two cents along with everyone else. I've only owned a 950 and a 995 so I'm only qualified to judge between these two. I loved my 950, but I'll take the 995 hands down. Just to many features to walk away from. I sold my 950 with no regrets and was able to buy an external flash and the Magic Bracket.
