1DMKIII: I'm bringing sexy back (pics)

Hi José:

Regarding the shot above, to my eyes the OOF effect isn't pulling away fast enough from the face; I'm not sure what your feeling is about this, so please, share it. Also, for the sake of comparison, do you have other shots but with greater tilt?

BTW, #8 is my favorite; the face profile turned out pretty cool.

Hi Joe,

The subway shot was more or less a grab shot as it was pretty cold there. I shot that at f/2 but I decided to diffuse it a bit because it had more DOF than I originally intended.

Not sure what you meant by greater tilt, like these???

Thanks.

Cheers,

José

Very nice images.
You must have used a "Very Tall" lens to be able to include all of
the height of the pretty Lady -- [Grin]....

No José, it looked to me that you were using a tilt/shift lens; apparently I'm wrong otherwise you would have asked the "meant by greater tilt" question. Let's start from step one so I can figure out what you did to the picture to defocus and/or blur the lower part of her torso. Okay, please bear with me, what lens did you use?

A little OT, at least off my "original" topic, but I liked all the shots in your reply, nice job as always.

I don't own a tilt-shift lens however those lenses look interesting to use for some creative shoots.

the third "model" picture down from the top (it's actually the fourth picture); this is exactly what I "thought" you were doing with your shot, using a T/S to defocus the lower part of your model's torso. I wish the picture (third model) was a little larger because it looks like the defocus action is very smooth/soft; it's hard to tell how really good the picture is when it's so tiny, oh well.

BTW, thanks for the link; that article discusses very interesting possibilities.

Okay, I'm looking forward to more of your fashion shots, see you later José, and keep up the good work.
