--Hi, folks.
I have very generous family members. I own the following Olympus
cameras: C-2100 UZ ('UZI' for two months), E100RS ('EZI' for three
WEEKS), the D-40 Zoom (since Xmas 2001), and the D460 Z. These
were ALL gifts, all bought brand spanking new, and obviously not
used all that much!
I sort of feel like owning the UZI and the EZI are a little bit
redundant, and think I should get rid of one of them. I'm thinking
of trading up at least the UZI or the EZI and my D460 zoom. and
then, when there is a sale, coughing up the difference and buying
the Sony F-707. I will not give up the D-40 Z. The 460Z takes
gorgeous photos, but I just don't need it anymore, since I have the
four megapixel and EXCELLENT D-40 zoom. Those little clamshell
cameras are the best for carrying with you at all times, just in
case... I am definitely keeping the D-40 Zoom. I will not give
up that little gem just yet. I know that many of you out there own
both the UZI and the EZI, and from what I've read here and there
those that do own both cameras would probably give up the UZI,
despite the slight difference in megapixels.
Anyone care to suggest what they would do? I thought I'd keep the
UZI before the EZI, but I have to tell you that for taking photos
of sports, moving animals, birds, etc., that EZI can't be beat, and
I am truly hard pressed to see any noticable difference in
identical shots taken with the two cameras. Now, for the Sony
F707. Every photo I have seen is pretty darn impressive! I will
mention (why I don't know) that ergonomically, the F707 STILL does
not feel as comfortable in my hands as the UZI and EZI. It was
noticeably lense/barrel heavy! Nor does it have 10X zoom. Am I
driving myself nuts here? Yes. Absolutely. I find it hard to
believe that Olympus will come out with anymore 10X optical zoom
lenses, considering they lost the license to Canon for that. I
already have some great cameras. Maybe I should ride the wave and
just wait until something REALLY mind blowing comes along! The
F707's price is right too. I can't afford the SLRs. They are
just too much money for me! That Sony is nice, despite the fact
that I feel like a TRAITOR, LOL.
Any input would be REALLY appreciated.
Thanks.
