I was wondering if anybody here had ever thought of using a Palm PDA in their photography business.

If you already are what are you doing with it specifically?

I was looking around on the Web for software specific to photography businesses and really can't find much. I have thought of using it during weddings to keep track of which poses I have done and what I have left to do.

What say you all.

Thanks

Ron

Greetings,

Yes I'm also wondering if a PDA might be overall easier to manage out in the field. Hopefully some users will post here so we can measure whether it's an effective option.

Cheers!

You can use it,
it should not be a problem...
ALSO

you may also ask from CANON or NIKON to integrate such features to their cameras...
some german camera manufacturer is even added games into their P&S cameras..

I have a treo 650 which runs OS 5.

I don't use it for a photography business, but I do use a program called Documents to Go which allows you to view, edit word, excel and powerpoint files.

So for billing/ pricing you could use a spreadsheet to quote prices on the spot by changing/ editing numbers, etc.

I'm not a wedding photographer so I cannot attest to the usefulness or not of a PDA for your purpose. I am a PDA user.

There are a few data base programs that are easy to use. You could make your own database to do something like that. Or you can look at project software that are easily programmed by you to do what you want it to do.

Nah, someone the other day re-activated a thread from 2001 about the Canon D30.

I think the fact that it took 4 years for the first reply to the OP says something. I'm a Palm user as well (ok, it's actually a Sony unit but running Palm OS 5) and have been for many years, but haven't yet seen a practical way of integrating it into shooting. I've seen these photo log programs, but honestly I think it's faster & less cumbersome to use a notepad & pen.
