Well sorta. I don't know exactly what this means. Here's my question and their reply:

Dear Customer,
The question you submitted has been resolved.

Question is : I hear there will be an upgrade that will be available for the DiMAGE 7 and I was wondering if there will be anything like that coming in the near future for the DiMAGE 5. I am more than willing to pay for such an upgrade/update. Any firmware or other updates that improve the autofocus and other features would be very much appreciated by me and other 'D5' users I've talked to on the internet. They too are willing to pay for an upgrade, should one become available. Thanks

Actually, I'm kinda thinking it's non-answer. More of a dance around my question without actually answering it. But I hope not...I hope there really will be a DiMAGE 5 update.

Minolta Japan has already made it clear in the last point of their FAQ about the upgrade that it does not apply to the D5 and they are not considering an upgrade.

If they release a D5i then you might be in luck.
