Rockaway Beach and Twin Rocks, Oregon

Hi, Larry!

I'm smiling, bud -- you make me feel so good. I thought you'd like the first one and probably not the second. I wish I had taken the second one right at sunrise or sunset... Guess I'll have to go back :)

Thanks so much, Larry.

adrienne
Hi AC!!! wow...the cloud one just makes me get thrilled to view!!!
Excellent detail on the beach, too. Wonderful shot!
you bud,
Larry

Hugh,

How did I know you'd like the reflections??? :) Thanks so much for your comments on the color in the first one -- I loved the way the ocean looked that evening. I love this location, too, and I need to go back again soon.

Thank you, Hugh.

adrienne
Hello AC,

Really fine, subtle color in the ocean in the first one. I like the
reflections and the bird in the foreground in the second one. A
really beautiful place and very inviting pictures.

Good morning, Ruud!

Thank you very much for the kind comments. Isn't it great when you can get an interesting sky into a photo? And yes, I like to sneak birds into shots, too :)

adrienne
These are two great scenes. The first one because great sky and
wide perspective. the second because of the bird accent.

Greetings Ruud

Hi, Jamil!

I really appreciate your taking the time to let me know your thoughts on these photos. It really helps me to know what people think, and I love the way you write, too. I'm very glad to hear that you enjoyed these shots, Jamil. Thank you so much. I have a big smile on my face now.

adrienne
You've done it!! The first shot is beautiful. You have tha
straignt lines of the beach and water cutting through. You must
have waited for a while because the clouds are a perfect
contrast...whispy and fluffy with a strip of blue at the top. The
dark shadows of the grass are also a nice contrast to the light
peaking in from the ocean on the middle right. And of course, you
have those awesome rocks popping up on the left. All in all a very
delightful image.

The second one is great too. Excellent color and contrast. I
especially like how you have the bird there to make the shot
interesting, rather than just a normal landscape.

Thanks for sharing.

-Jamil

Good morning, Kim!

Thank you very much -- it was great to read your great comments this morning. I'm so glad that you enjoyed these shots, Kim.

adrienne
These are great, Adrienne! I especially like the second because of
the great light on the rocks and the motion of the waves and the
haze in the background. Great job! Kim

Good morning, Rome!

It is a beautiful location, isn't it? I need to get back there and shoot some more. Thank you very much for your kind comments, Rome.

adrienne
WoW !!! What a scenery !!! I particularly like picture #2 a perfect
scenery with the blue skies, the rocks, wet sand and a bird. Breath
taking view!!!

Oh, Dirk, you touch my heart when you say these things. I think that your English is very fine and your comments are truly beautiful. I am truly pleased that you like my beach photos. Thanks for the suggestion to do more of them -- I love the beach, and I'll take any excuse to go back :)

That bird does look quite proud, doesn't he?

Thank you very much, Dirk.

With respect and gratitude,

adrienne
Hi Adrienne,

My English is not good enough and I know not enough adjectives to
use for the description and the impression that I get from those
fabulous, awesome pictures. I love the magic light in the first
seapicture and the heavy clouds that add to the mood. Also an
excellent composition.
I love also the second where it was very good of you to take one
with the bird to make it more interesting, and I love the way that
the bird walks there, he looks so proud of his house in the
background. I can see that he's the owner. I really enjoy these and
please Adrienne post more seapictures.

With very kind regards,

Dirk Vermeirre

Buonas díaz, Martin!

Thank you so much for liking my photo enough to use it as wallpaper. I'm truly happy to hear that you enjoyed these shots. Yes, those rocks are a little strange :)

About the sharpening: I don't let the camera sharpen much -- I set camera sharpening to low so I can do it myself in Photoshop.

Hasta la vista,

adrienne
Hola Adrienne:

Great photos. I like it (the first I used as a wallpaper for today
in PC, thanks)
One Question: In the first photo did you use sharpen in the
camera's setup or after in PS? I really like the saturation and hue
of green and, one more time, the incredible sharpness.
The second is very strange, very crazy.
When begins to download, first the screen shows me that strange
rock of the left and thinks that it was a nest, after I saw the
bird!!
Great shot also, very peacefull.

Con mis mayores respetos.

Good morning, Ed!

I think it may be a crow. I'm not sure of the difference between a crow and a raven, though.

Thank you very much for your nice comments on these photos, Ed. I always enjoy hearing what you think.

With respect,

adrienne
These are quite nice, adrienne. The Oregon Coast and slightly
inland has so many good possibilities for someone with your eye.

I like the blue tones and reflections of the second. And is that
Raven walking through? Hmm, maybe not, the beak doesn't seem quite
right from here...

But my favorite is the first. The open ended moodiness of it
really appeals to me.

My very best, of course,

Ed

Wow Adrienne, these are awsom!!! Both are incredibly beautiful, the first one (w/ wide angle?) makes unreal nature perspective and the second is both open and intimate with those amaizing blue tones I am never able to get myself (mineare usually wey too muddy). The sharpnes, the richness of colors and the light all make these two images a pure delight to look at

Thanks for sharing

Hi ac,

As others have stated above, these are very nice images. I favor the second one a little over the first.

I hope you are enjoying ps7. Here is a thought. On the bottom shot use the magic wand tool (or any selection tool) to select the bird. Do a copy and past and change the blending option of the second layer to screen. If necessary set the opacity to less than 100% to lessen the effect. Let me know if this brings out some detail in the bird.

Stan Abraham

Whoa adrienne... Fantastic! In the second one, a crop of what we see at first would have work fine too 'cos the rock looks like an escargot.

Your big fan,

Daniel

Hello, Jouko!

It was very good to read your kind words. Thank you, Jouko. It was a good trip to the beach for me.

adrienne
Just great, Adrienne
the first one has just right proportions of everything layered
nicely together. The feeling of openness is so present. The second
one has the rocks and the bird just in the right balance, mixed
with different shades of blue. Thanks very much for sharing

Greg,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on these photos when I know you must be very busy with your class. I am truly happy to hear that you enjoyed these reminders of Oregon. I'll have to get back there soon to take some more :)

adrienne
Nice shots, though the first excels in beauty. I like the quietness
you captured, and the lovely restrained tones. Of course the
placement of the eponymous rocks is right on, and worth a chuckle
to me as one who's seen these many a time. They are in the photo!

Beiklo,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these photos. I'm happy to hear that you like the inclusion of the bird -- to me, the rocks weren't enough by themselves, and I wasn't sure the bird would add enough, but it was all I could get. I'm glad you think it worked.

adrienne
I really like both of these,Adrienne, but the second one is
exceptional.The bird,almost in silhouette,is so much more
artistically integrated into the picture this way than in full
light.Really well done !

Beiklo
