Flickr-pbase-Zen folio-Smug mug - Which one do you use.....??

For SmugMug, if anyone here in the UK orders prints theyhave to pay to have them shipped from the US, which sounds a bit of a pain. Anyone have any experience of this as a UK user?

I joined pbase a long time ago (2001) and have found no reason to change

An average of 275 views per month with Pbase; compared to 1138 views per month with Exposuremanager, along with unlimited storage and dozens of more services.

Free trial and if you like it and want to you and I can save som moneyif you use this link to register: http://www.exposuremanager.com/aff/rjnedimyer

If you do not like that idea just go to: http://www.exposuremanager.com

Or If you do not prefer it that's OK too.

What a great thread, lots of great info.

At the point where I am deciding what to use.

Choosing between ZenFolio and SmugMug. Understand ZenFolio offers Mpix and EZPrints which is supposed to be really good, while SmugMug only offers EZPrints.

Questions:

Which has a better print service?

Which offers the better printing quality?

Which offers better photo book options?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Jon,

I opted for smugmug, standard account. I like the facts: can customize the lay out; obtain software for easy, fast uploading; protect galleries if required; implant a google earth map; receive fast, efficient and effective help; and there are no pop-ups or ads (which free accounts tend to have). If you want to display photos, either privately to family/friends with security protection or publicly without protection, it is worth the cost.

My galleries below offer examples.

I'm a satisfied Pbase member. My view count is over 700,000 since May, 2006. I don't think you can beat the display options that Pbase offers. Plus my stuff often turns up on Google Images, which means that much more exposure.

I also have a Flickr account, but I don't care much for the display against the white background or that site's navigational challenges.

The two best looking sites out there, in my opinion, are SmugMug and Zenfolio. I use SmugMug. It's worth the small annual fee for the look and features, especially considering the time you'll invest in uploading and organizing. SmugMug does resize your pictures based on the size of your window. This was a recent upgrade. Customer service is very responsive. They actually take your enhancement suggestions seriously. You can also see statistics on the number of views by picture.
