CSLR Challenge 114 - Centred Composition

Thank you everyone for voting for my photograph, highly appreciated. Thank You!!!

Thank you Brent for being a fabulous host and Congratulations on the Exhibition win.

Challenge 114: One of the basic rules of photography is the rule of thirds. Let’s, for a change, break away from this and go in for a Centred Composition and take a picture where the main subject is in the center of the photograph. I haven’t done something like this in a while and am sure most of us generally refrain from putting something bang in the centre of the photograph. But there are many elements which work beautifully inspite of being centred. The challenge here is to make the photograph highly appealing whilst keeping the main subject, centred.

Hope to see loads of great entries in this challenge and more importantly, hope all have fun shooting the photos.

Cheers, Vikas

..to find anything suitable in the archives for Exhibition.
I see your point Tommy, and with a quick thought I'm thinking some archives could be cropped to be centered. I don't know that it would improve their look, but maybe give them a still pleasing alternate look.

I'm very curious about what the winning shot will be and whether cropping it to take it off center will have a positive effect on the image- might be tough to have that not be the case. I think this will be interesting.

Holy Thesaurus, Lee

Give the guy a break.

Vikas is Indian which used to be part of the British Empire and they can spell it Centre! It's just us silly Americans that spell it Centered.

Besides, I think it was Mark Twain that said only the very dull can find only one way to spell a word - or something like that.

Or Artemus Ward who said, "It is a pity that Chaucer, who had geneyus, was so unedicated; he's the wuss speller I know of."

BTW, Gallery set up looks perfect which I expect from V.

I would love to learn your secrets of processing - your black and white images have such great tones and depth.

Looking forward to all the wonderful images your new topic is sure to generate!

I think of the many photos in my archive and several will pop (pun intended) to the fore front of my mind for possible entry into the exhibition gallery.

However, for this challenge my mind is empty. (Mrs. Pops has a comment or two about that).

I've got to do some more thinking. Maybe I should go to a mountain top and seek a guru!
