It's more noticable if I scroll up and down, which I have to do on this 15" CRT.

...well, I wouldn't worry too much about that laptop monitor - color/contrast/white balance look just great.
These are all wonderful images. The last 3 are stunning, and my favorite is the anhinga. Glad to see you're back in the saddle with a good D300 and that new lens must be heaven!

Now my 70-300mm VR which I had secretly (and ridiculously) hoped would be enough for bird shots seems woefully inadequate.
Great photos as always, and they look fantastic on my 20-inch iMac.
Looking forward to more of your pics!

I see it as well, scrolling made it more noticeable. Using an LCD screen.

How's the AF with 21 or 51 points? I thought 21 point was the best.
