Hello to everyone!

In trying to follow Hugh's tutorial and get images like his (fat chance ;-) ) I have been running out at sunrise on a regular basis. While I am not thrilled with my attempts some of the results bear a second glance. Here's a couple:

Thanks for looking! Kim

Hello Kim,

If I had anthing to do with these. I'm very proud. Excellent color and composition. Did I send you the information on masking? If not, send me an eMail and I will.

I like these, Kim.The strata of colors are well done and the smattering of white clouds against the brilliant yellow in the first one is a nice bonus.

Hey, Kim, these look great to me. The early-morning color is really fine! I especially like the way you included the reflections in the foreground in the first one, and the color and reflections in the second are amazing.

Yes, Hugh - it's your wonderful low-light images that have me running out the door two hours early for work ;-) I received your email, thanks! I am new to Photoshop and was a little stunned at first (8 bit, 16 bit what?). I played with it last night on a much darker image and came up with this...

Here's the first one I posted:

The detail is much more clear on my laptop than my desktop but I think I understand a little about masking now. Thanks! Kim

Hi Larry! Hugh sent me your masking technique and I have been playing with it on another similar image. It's making sense to me finally and I'm sure I will be using it a lot! Thanks! Kim
