1. Her elbow should be resting on something.
2. The image, overall could use some Post Processing.

Beautiful little girl, nice portrait.

I would pay more attention to your focus: the eyes should be in focus, the rest doesn't matter so much (yours is the other way around). I would also take that flash off you camera and place it somewhere. I don't know if you've ever read the strobist, if not, please do so: http://strobist.blogspot.com/

if you want to keep that flash on your camera, soften it at least a bit. gary fong as some very useful accessories, and some of them are easily replaced by some craft and 50c of material: http://store.garyfonginc.com/
