Today I went to my retailer here in Oslo, Fotovideo, and bought the 10-20 mm EX lens. Furthermore I bought a Monopod, the Benro Karbon MC-98 n6 with the head KS-1.

I also showed the photographer in the shop my photos on PBase from Bygdøy. He was so interested and suggested that I shall come to them with a photo I really like and then they want to print it in large format to show the customers the ability of the SD-14 ... :) A good idea I think!

Then I went out to take some shots, but it was already a little late with the sun soon to set. But it was ok to use the Monopod.

I also tried to see how it could be in black and white:

Such nice images, out of such a nice land, Arne (my grandfather's name).

I will appreciate any others you may take of Frogner Park - or is that not one from there? But I like to see those sculptures, which I have once or more touched. Appreciating them more, in their controversies, over the years. But what one person did.

Regards,
Clive

Good shots Arne: Thanks for sharing and I would be interested in knowing which shot you decide to have the camera shop print. :0).
Cheers,

If you can see the light, you can photograph it
Quote from Myron Woods

Hello again, Arne, and thank you. If you find the moment that it appeals to you, and there is time, it would be good to see some. And if not, there is the spring of course.

I hadn't noticed that you wanted votes for which picture to share. I looked at both of these on your pbase site and some others. It seems to me that the image titled Akershus Castle will be much the best for this.

There is a lot of detail of different kinds in it, and also beautiful colors. Particularly in the low reddish sunlight, I think it is a picture the Sigma-Foveon can uniquely do. For anyone, it is an attractive - and very Norse - image.

I hope that helps, and don't worry about the Vigeland pictures, please. I refreshed my memory of one I particularly and always remember, the old man and woman, from the web. There is a great deal of gentleness and human knowledge in that sculpture and others.

Kind regards,
Clive
I have pictures from the Frogner Park, that I shot with the Canon G7.
I will see if I can post some of them in my PBase gallery.

When spring comes, the Park will of course be a superb place for
shooting ...

Arne, that is very kind of you. And yes, the G7 takes nice images.

The sculpture of the old man and woman that I remember: they are the last picture in your gallery.

Hope you have it good with your foto store and your image - looks like one more vote for the same one now.

Regards,
Clive
Hi Clive,

at your request: some photos from the Frongnerpark (for a P+S, the G7
is not bad):

Some more in the new gallery:

Just for the records. Arne's first photo is not from the Viegelands Park.

It is in the Harbour of Oslo, just in front of the massive City HAll, turning 45 degrees to the right, you get Arnes picture #3, the Akerhsus Castle with a commanding view of the harbour:

Nice images, Arne. Oslo has a very special feel when that low light sweeps across, and people think spring is here. Probably a while still. (Here there are 7 different kinds of flowers in the garden and the Larch hower over green fields, singing.

Of the two first shots I like the color version best.

Exciting with the offer to "exhibit" print in the shop.

Thank you, Øyvind,

Yes, I realised this when looking at the full-sized image on Pbase. It's a different sculptural style than Vigeland, I think, and what I thought might be one end of the park doesn't look so when you can see it more clearly.

Still - resemblences I think, if memory doesn't fail...

Take care, and regards,
Clive

Love the harbour picture! Shows off the best color reproduction of the sd 14... Although in it's simplicity the one with the snowy shore is nice as well.
Fantastic job anyways!

Yes, each of those has something to offer, ArneMarco - I had looked at the Akerskirk before myself thinking of what you might offer.

I would bring the three - the harbor scene is bound to be a highlight, I think, and the other two could be good for the shop also, showing it is no one-situation result.

They are all 'not perfected and too-polished professional', for example with the perspective on the church, and this will add to their value to show what an individual can enjoy of the camera.

I liked the individuals walking around the beach area - something nice in detail to notice on that one.

Kind regards,
Clive
I thank you all for your contributions. To present to the shop, you
have suggested this picture:

But how about this:

or this:

Maybe I should take all of them with me and see what they think.
