I recently bought an S20 in Japan (I leave near Tokyo) and was promised by the camera store that Canon would swap my Japanese language software (ie Zoombrowser and Photostitch) for English... I subsequently contacted Canon Japan and they explained that software licensing prevented them from doing so. I also contacted Canon USA (through their "products purchased outside the USA" form) and received no reply.
The software is not unusable for doing basic things like downloading pics via USB - it runs on my English MacOS 9.0.4 and has plenty of icons (the universal language!). Furthermore, since Canon USA have the english photoshop plug-in available from their website, the problem is further reduced. However, it is rather annoying that I can't use the programmes to their full potential. Is there anyone out there who has experienced a similar problem with language and has found a work around?
