Hi,

I just discovered a hot pixel, just about in the middle of the picture.
Shows up in all the pictures with real dark background. I know
it is not the LCD because I see it on the computer screen.

I am qurious as to how many else have had this problem and if
you returne the camera. Bought mine at Best Buy and will exchange it
as soon as they get new cameras in. They are out right now.

Anybody has a good tip for a bag? I basically want it to be as
"snug" as possible and just hold the camera in order to minimize its
size. Although if I could put in an extra memory card that would be good.

Any info is welcome.

Yep -
I've got 2 hot pixels in the upper right hand area of my pictures.
I'll be taking my G2 back to Circuit City soon.

One question -
When you bring your G2 back to Best Buy will they replace it on the spot
or will they send it in for service?

I'm pretty sure Circuit City will send it in and try to get it repaired leaving
me without a camera for a while

Hi Jon,

I expect them to replace it on the spot. However they are all out
right now but should get some in on Friday.

Not to depress you guys, but I am on my 3rd G2 from BestBuy.

The first G2 had a large glowing green pixel in the LCD screen (yeah, yeah, I know it didn't affect the pics but it was annoying as hell), the 2nd one had several hot pixels (totally noticable on a dark background) an the 3rd, well has MORE hot pixels than the 2nd one.

I love the camera and its capabilities but the hot pixel issue is really irritating me.

Yes, I have a cluster of hot pixels that show in all but the brightest images. I also have a small crack. It's a pretty sad thing when you are afraid to send in your camera for the warranty work you deserve because of concerns about the quality of the camera you'll get in return. I live with a flawed camera that I paid $800 for because I'm afraid I'll end up with a more flawed camera. Of course, I really do love this camera. It has had a huge impact on the quality of the images I get. The other stuff only bugs me when I think about it.....ta
