Thank you Berdies.

Nothing to tell about 72nd Street. I accidentally put it there, forgetting about it being a subject of Brooklyn and couldn't edit it out :~

good set, not my favorite NYC set, but picture 7 with the 77 is my favorite. i love these sort of abstract pictures you take. kind of like the one you took of a few boxes and papers in front of a wodden door. great stuff.

Dez I'm not referring to its location, but the edges seem strange to me.
I don not even know the diffrence between Brooklyn and Manhatten.
Kind regards.

very nice series. I especially like #2 (shoe repair).

I'm curious, as I am a beer snob...what brewery was pictured in the 2nd to last? (I noticed the "brewery tours" on the door)

dez, I like the first two with the Brooklyn Bridge and the shot of old shoe store

What I like about the Brooklyn Bridge shot is the crisscrossing of the steel beams which gives it an artistic quality and the steel railings on the right and left has a nice line leading to the Bridge tower.I assume you were not driving when you took the photo. I really like the second shot because it has a little of everything, with the colorful red over hang of the store and a nice touch with the owner or a customer sitting in the doorway. And it is good to see the stuff in the window which adds to the photo. Yes, you are getting good use out of the 17-55 2.8 lens which is super sharp

I see. The edges are just a new frame that I put on the photo, is all.

Brooklyn is part of NYC but an outer borough, about 10- 20 minutes from Manhattan.

Photo # 7 is odd facade on a building in Brooklyn that I noticed. It looked nice so i stooped down low and shot it.

Thanks.

It's called the "Brooklyn Brewery", located in Williamsburg.

Thanks Lowell.

The 2nd photo of the Shoe Repair is in Greenpoint and it reminded of the old style shoe repair shops that are scarce these days.

The lens is super sharp at f/2.8 and up. Im enjoying it :D

I love the shoe repair shop! Reminds me of my childhood neighborhood with the old guys sitting and talking. Good work! It's just the kind of photos the professional photographers in the 1930s made except that much of it was in B&W. Here's one of Berenice Abbott's view-camera shots from the '30s that I lifted out of a book. To get shots, she used to lug that view camera and big wooden tripod up to the roofs of tall buildings.

Best,
Tom

Wow, where's this? Lower East Side? I like looking at the old views of NY. You may be able to locate that building, if it is in the L.E.S.

Thanks for the comments and nostalgic photo, Tom.

The one that caught my eye is #7.Surprised no one has taged it with paint or a poster yet..The shoe store is cool with the old guys in the door and B/W would make even cooler. IMHO......................Jon
