I am in the market to get a digital camera. I currently have a 1mp camera that was free from earthlink (what a joke)!

I would like to jump in with a high end camera, so that I do not have to buy a new one in 3 months. My question is about the movie capability. Does the 6900 have ANY way to add sound i.e., mic input?

Or, should I just wait for the S602 release? Do not let all of the other upgraded features cloud your opinion...
Is the added features going to be worth the extras $$$ over the 6900?

Or maybe there is a better choice out there? I am looking at 3mp+ and MUST have audio capability for movie record.
Thanks, and hopefully I can join in on more topics once I purchase :)

No sorry.

I think you'll find the 602 will be cheaper. It certainly is starting out at less than the 6900 was when it was last in the shops here in January.

The 602 looks like the king of the video set for the moment. If this is a positive must for you then the 602 is probably what you are looking for. It's difficult to think of another 3mp camera with better features and image quality anyway.
Thanks, and hopefully I can join in on more topics once I purchase :)

Good luck

the 6900z records video in 320*240px-mode, 10fps and a limited time of 160s,

the s602 records video in 640x480pixels (VGA, 4 times bigger), 30fps and unlimited time (that is, till your storage media is full of course)

and it looks great!

If video is that important to you, I'd wait.

ToM.

I've been using a Fuji 4900 since November 2000 =)

The extra features are what makes the camera so good. It is not a clouding of opinions. It is solid fact =) YES it is totally worth it.

Nope. Nothing out there as far as I'm concerned. Had a G2, didn't like it, went back to a Fuji 4900 after considering everything available in January 2002. When the S602 was announced, it was pure joy.
