How to use PIM

I've seen yesterday that many of Sony Digicams gives the possibility
to use PIM.
I've was looking for it on user's manual of DSC-F707 and haven't
found anything about it.

Someone knows how to use it with DSC-F707 or other Sony cam?

Is it really interesting to use?
