My first Pictures

Fun is the word. I prefer to look at roses to catfish heads. I prefer the other part of the catfish on the table. ;-) You are off to a good start. Main thing is to set reset to off and select ISO 100. I shoot SHQ, a but some people swear by HQ. I like to use spot focusing mostly. Don't forget to get out of macro after you shoot them.

Thanks I don't use the Camedia program but I opened the pictures in Photoshop and did an auto level. It brightened them up. Shouold I shoot with a different exposure compensation to make them brighter??

much fun...Thanks
In your Camedia program go to the IMAGE menu, click on INSTANT FIX.
That will brighten up some of your shots like the snail.

Welllllll.....the catfish is definitely different....looks like it was a really big one!

The flowers are lovely....but I'd like to see more of a 'face' view of the flower, rather than a side view. The snail.....well, not too fond of snails, but the detail is great!
Looks like you're having fun.......keep on snapping! ....and posting!

I don't know. I shoot 99% in P mode and adjust in Camedia or PhotoDeluxe 4.0. When I see something to shoot, I hate to take the time to mess around with exposures, etc. . Comes from many years of shooting fires. If you wait 2 seconds you can lose a great shot.

isn't it amazing how many people in this forum get a new camera and the first thing they do is take a picture of a decayed catfish head ? got to be more then just coincidence ?! :-)

HI MIKE,

I LIKE ISO 100, RESETS OFF, SHQ, spot fousing, centerwieghted metering, and I shoot in sports mode most of the time....just like less depth of field and a faster shutter even for portraits, only when I am taking a senery pic do i switch to p mode for a little more depth.......

just my two cents...
nice pics too...
bye, jeff

Heck, I thought it was a bat on a string! Nice snail shot! I have wanted to take one of a snail, but you beat me to it!
Have fun!
