CS£ - problem loading raw plug-in update

This may have come up before, but I cannot check because the search is down, so apologies if this is repetition. I have just bought CS3 and I've downloaded the raw plug-in version 4.3.1, (I need it for my Nikon D300) but I cannot get CS3 to recognise it. It probably does not help that I am also a mac newbie! The download has the file extension .dmg so I wondered if I have to do some unpacking first. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

the right way to do it is to simply run the updater from inside CS3. It will do the Right Thing.

go to Help -> Updates...

A .dmg file is a compressed 'virtual disk'. Many programs come in this form, so even if you've found another solution to this particular problem, it may be good to know this, because you will encounter .dmg files again. Just double-click on the file, and it will mount as if it was an external disk.
