Just what customers wants: increased noise, lol."It will be the Rebel XTs. Same sensor, 3″ screen, live-view,
dust remover (already had in XTi), increased noise and DR performance
nice....increased noise
Same sensor and 2 stops more of DR ???? interesting !!"It will be the Rebel XTs. Same sensor, 3″ screen, live-view,
dust remover (already had in XTi), increased noise and DR performance
(gaining of 2 stops more or so claims Canon), support for UDMA cards,
Digic3, Canon wireless master built in, improved AF performance and 4
new cross sensors around the center AF point. Lastly from what I hear
it should be priced at $599. Not too shabby."
--Hope not!anything on sd cards??
Somehow doubt the same sensor.Same sensor and 2 stops more of DR ???? interesting !!"It will be the Rebel XTs. Same sensor, 3″ screen, live-view,

14bit AD conversion has nothing to do with DR .. It only tells how many conversion steps/levels are available in analog/digital conversion of the existing DR ..Somehow doubt the same sensor.Same sensor and 2 stops more of DR ???? interesting !!"It will be the Rebel XTs. Canon has in all their new dSLRs with Digic3 used 14 bits per pixel
and that require a new sensor. 10MP sensor is most logical
interpretation of "the same sensor" - may be that used in 40D or then
something low cost version alike they made for 350D instead of using
the old 20D sensor.
I do not quite agree. Have seen a test made with D300 -as that has both 12b and 14b modes- and there was a clear difference in the deep shadow details. Is this test applicable to Canon cams, I do not know. In high-light there was no difference. But based on this the 14b may make a small difference in DR (=light area you can still detect details).14bit AD conversion has nothing to do with DR .. Hi there pals,
I'm looking forward to Canon to announce the next camera of its
bottom line, maybe named 450D. It may be shown in late February or
March... have you already heard any rumours on this? Do you dare to
give some possible specs? 13mp perhaps?
--i am going to get one as a backup to my 40D, at least I wont get my cards mixed up.I don't know why everybody wants these tiny little SD card for ???
I am quite happy using CF cards that I can hold onto !!
