What incredible color, Hugh! I like the way you "pushed the edge" a little with your composition, making it more dynamic. I love your use of foreground elements like the grasses, and, of course, the ducks. You know, I just keep coming back to look at this one. Beautiful!

Hello Hugh,

As I gaze at your image I experience a real sense of looing into the distance. Your images provide a tremendous sense of three dimensionality by incorporating foreground, mid and background objects linked together by smooth and unusually lit water. I like that you used birds in this one. The silhouette of the birds and plants in the foreground add tremendously to the 3D look.

I also really like the reflections of the sun and the pointy sign. This image is very well spotted and excellently captured ( as usual ).

Very very nice Hugh,

the ducks are a nice foreground feature, but DL need not feel threatened. Also neat is the boat about to be consumed by the sun. I like it. As I usually do with your work.
best regards
Steve

Hello AC,

Thank you for taking time to comment. There is always a bit of doubt when pointing a wide angle lens down. Fortunately, in this instance, there were not many vertical lines to tell on me :-). I'm pleased to know it has "staying power" :-).

With appreciation,

Hugh,

Beautiful shot. This is an image that overwhelms you with "peacefullness".

Thanks for sharing. Actually Iwould vote for this shot to win an award. It is framed perfectly top to bottom.

Hi Hugh. This is a beautiful photo! I like that there is so much more to it than the typical sunset photo. The ducks and the ripples are a nice addition.

Hi Hugh,

Another beauty. What a wonderfull area. I like the arrow in this one with the a bit moved reflection. How long are exposures mostly at this time of the day ?

With kind regards,

Very beautiful, Hugh! The post with the arrow really makes it for
me... Nice job...

Hello Stan,

I greatly appreciate your detailed comments. I am addicted to wide DOF. The 3D look of which you speak is just not possible otherwise. I'm very pleased you see it a a prime attribute. The composition and elements in the pictures kind of make themselves. I go to places where the light will be good, and look for scenes that seem to work. Your positive feedback is a welcome reinforcement.

As, always, thank you for the support.

You do get up early, Hugh! So do I, but not to travel!!
Beautifully serene, and subtle color......perfect mood-maker.

Marilu
Hello Marilu,

It would be worth getting up early even without the pictures to take. They are the icing on the cake. Particularly when you, and others, enjoy them and are kind enough to comment.

With appreciation,
