A570 miserable batt life

I did not take any pictures today but I just turned on the cam to check the voltage. I am seeing 2.445V in AUTO record mode, 2.480V in playback mode.

No low batt indication.
I'm now up to 200 pics on a single charge and its still going. At
least 1/3 of the pictures were taken with flash and I am doing a fair
amount of LCD viewing.
What's your in-camera voltage reading? Is it still above water (2.4
volts)??

I just got the replace batteries message after 310 pictures (half flash). I let the cam sit off for a few minutes and I was able to take more pictures.

Thanks for the update! 300+ exposures on 2 AA's is very acceptable performance in my book! Been following this thread, my wife's new 570 has been experiencing erratic battery performance and I think I will install some eneloops and maybe the CHDK firmware just for the battery meter...

After reading a number of posts on DPReview about poor battery life in Canon A570s and after suffering with the problem for over 6 months, I sent my A570 back to Canon for repair.

"We have examined the product according to your request, and, it was found that the PCB assembly was inoperative [causing] the battery [to] wore out more quickly than normal. The PCB assembly was replaced. Other electrical adjustments, inspection and cleaning and parts replacement were carried out." Canon Factory Service Center, Order Number: CO973939

Hopefully, the problem is gone.

Thanks for that info.
Did Canon charge you for it, or was it covered under warranty?
