TC-14E w/ 105 2.8 VR?

Looking on B & H in the specs for the AF Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S it says it will work, but when you select the TC-14E II it doesn't list this lens as compatible.

Anyone tried this combo and have any feedback?

It will optically but no auto focus. I use it with mine to get me 1.4X larger on my macros. I just have to focus manually.

Great shot! Have you tried it with the TC for normal use? I suspected that the AF might not work and thus the different info.

Because the AF doesn't work, I don't use it other than for macro work. I'm afraid I have been spoiled since going to AF 19 years ago.

I am confused about this statement now... I have used this Macro lens with 1,4 TC and 1,7 TC and the AF works - of course not as fast as without TC's, but it is still working!?

Autofocus works for me with this combo, just slightly slower.

and it doesn't work in AF with my D200. If yours does then count your blessings. But there must be a reason it was not included with the list lens compatible with it.

It will work for distant objects just not very quick. It just doesn't do squat for close ups. I would still be cautious about using the AF with this combo.
