Why this strong colors in my pictures

Hi!

I'm a happy user of 400D for last one year. But still on learning curve with SLR.

I have been noticing that my camera giving me some strong colors such as Red and Greens and which I have not noticed in others' photos taken with same camera. Thought may be I'm looking at the photos with PP.

I'm very confused about my pictures.Please help me to fine tune my camera settings to have a optimum colors and exposure.

I'll be using Av mode most of the time and "Standard" picture mode with default settings.
ALSO LET ME KNOW IF I'M MAKING ANY MISTAKES IN TAKING PHOTOS.

Other than a few blown out highlights the pictures look good to me. Nice and sharp too.

If you prefer the colors to not be so vivid, then you can turn down the saturation in your camera or picture editor.

Could it be your monitor giving such bright colours?
Your photo looked fine to me.

I was comparing my XTi photo with Sony P&S which I was using for last 5 years. XTi photos are looking more strong in colors specifically Green and Red. So I thought I should take some professional guidance in this forum.
