D40 not working

so my D40 says when i turn it on, I need to reset the time or something. it won't function anything. it sometimes does not even come on, and I have pressed the reset bottom on the left side of the camera where USB and other plug in goes.

there was minor splash of water at the beach, but it should have not done that, i was wondering if there are anything that you guys know to fix this problem.
so basically,

1. my back screen wont come up
2. when it does come on, it ask me to reset the time.

3. when it ask me to reset the time, it wont let me choose or switch, it just freezes with that screen.

any solution to this........

i want my D40 back!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m sorry to hear this Adam. If salt water got in, you have your answer. If the camera is still under warrantee, contact Nikon for an RMA.
