Capture NX released for Leopard MAC OS 10.5

NIKON has released an update to Capture NX 1.3 for MAC OS 10.5 (Leopard).

I'm new to Capture NX, and am taking advantage of the free copy I received with my D300

I have 10.5.1 on my mac and after downloading NX, my Mac refused to install it.... are any other MAC users having this problem? (I should add I'm on 10.5.1).

and was told by the installer that it could not be installed on my Mac, which is using MacOS 10.4.11. However, the web page says it is for "all Mac users" and it includes this version of Tiger. They don't have it right just yet.

Thank goodness for our cameras that software is not Nikon's principal game.

The upgrade is a 2 step process. Download 1.3 first, then the 1.3.1 patch in that order. The 1.3.1 NX download will always refuse to run on Leopard without the latest 1.3 version first.

this is an upgrade for all versions of MacOS 10.3.9 and upwards, not just Leopard.

Also, Clint, I do have version 1.3.0 already. So I'm not sure what's going on.

Why can you open D300 NEF's under Leopard? Here it's still crashing ...
 
Count me in too as one who cant make it work. Installed fine but wont read the D300 NEF's at all and also crashes.

Incredibly frustrating. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. Nikon is working on it now trying to figure out what is going on. Hope to have an answer soon.

Yeah, really frustating!

Under native Leopard, Capture NX 1.3.1 crashes every time opening a D300 NEF, under Windows XP (within Parallels) on the same machine, Capture NX 1.3 opens the same NEF's without any problems
 
Absolutely crazy, but now it works.

I installed 1.3 Trial from the Nikon homepage and after that the 1.3.1 Hot Fix, then I de-installed capture NX and rebooted.

This procedure I had to do 4x (four time!) ... an now suddenly all works perfect, no crashes any more. Displayed version: 1.3.1-25111, SPM 1.3.0

I recommend doing a complete uninstall of NX and also delete the cache files.
Then re-run the installer clean, followed by the patch.

Note that this patch does not claim to make NX fully compatible with Leopard. It fixes the file corruption problem with NEFs.

I've been running on Leopard with no major issues since the patch was released. There may be other Leopard "glitches", but so far I haven't seen them.

Let me get this straight. You installed the trial, then the Hot Fix, then
you removed NX, rebooted and it works?
