How do I log out of this forum?

That's a good question. I've been a member here for many years and have never logged out.
 
There's a "Remember My Password" tick box in your profile. Uncheck that and you'll need to login every time you want to write in a thread.

If that still doesn't work, you can always clear your cookies in your browser. I run Firefox, and I have it automatically delete my cookies every time I close FF. Of course, this means that I have to manually log on every time I visit - but that is my preference.
 
If you open "edit profile" there is a checkbox for "remember my password". If that is checked, you won't see "logoff". Uncheck it and save and "logoff" will appear in your heading.

Clear your cookies and cache. Then the next time you come to the site, it will ask for your username and password. When you enter them do not check the remember my password box.
