Fantastic shots, I've been following the night shots.. Thank you for sharing the settings, I can't wait to test them out on my D2hs with the 17-35mm. First I need to get the MC-36 :)

any special head/tripod?

Johnny, I love your work. You've got a great eye and wonderful technical skills. You're continuing to inspire and show others what this camera is capable of. Would be great if you'd include exif data, even a brief summary in the text. Improves efficiency of posts, so people don't have to ask, and allows others to see what is being achieved at various ISOs, shutter speeds, sharpness settings, etc.

Thank, Alan

Does in camera sharpening get applied to RAW images? I thought that was just for the jpgs.

Hey Bill,

+9 but don't forget the glass!
+9, holy cow!

I've been using +5 but will try the higher levels.

I'm still deliberating over lenses - the 17-55 seems good for me but I'm a little taken aback by the "quirks" written about here and elsewhere. The 17-35 would be too short for the types of shots I take (lots of landscape, often with distant subjects).

Why not? At a minimum it's a courtesy to other forum members and it saves the OP time in answering a lot of questions.

Also I post EXIF for one person only to have another one ask me again.. and then again :-) I guess people don't read all the comments, don't want to be rude to anyone so post it again Sam.. I mean John :-)

This begs the next question maybe for a seperate thread but...

What other settings are you changing or suggest changing? I would like to minimize post work as well. But I did not mess with many of the D200 settings.

Have you ever thought about sleeping at night? :-) Kidding of course, keep up the good work.
