It seems that the pics were made on the FX cause I have never seen vignetting with this lens on the DX crop.

yeh i mean the overall feel for the picture, a combination of dynamic
range, DOF from the FF sensor and colour. It's so different to what I
get from the D200 straight out of the camera.

the 85/1.4 is definately on the list but I'm waiting for any news if
there's a newer model coming out. I will hold out 'til mid next yr as
there's no rush really :)
Thanks, methd; 'dynamic range, DOF...and colour' -- interesting observations and 'spot on', I believe; in particular, the color from the D3 -- to my eye -- is a step-up from the D2xs; I'm interested to hear the opinions of others.

Thanks again for posting the images; what will you shoot next?

good work mate

nice to see some more real-world stuff, and not crazy hi-iso testing.

This shows to me a cam that is capable of really nice colours & contrast. They have a real "look" to them. Whilst I think you said they were all jpeg, and I'm aware the cam will impose more on a jpeg than a raw, this is still a very decent set of images to help the wavering mind... and i like seeing pics taken in the rain too, I'll admit.

thanking you :)

really enjoyed your shoots. Even more so if they are unprocessed.

Did people complaint when they saw stranger pointing at them?

And is it just me or there's some vignetting going on on i.e.
70-200: 13,20,47
14-24: 54,55,56?

I linked this in another thread, but for those who missed it and are
interested, they're here:

D3 + 70-200
http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/3929551

D3 + 24-70 and some 14-24
http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/3930708

No editing or cropping at all and the full size is available for DL
with exif attached. Also, the contrast has been increased two notches
in the JPG custom settings which were fromt he normal setting. I
think I increased the saturation by one notch, but otherwise, nothing
is altered.

Metering is matrix with no ev adjusment.
I really like the "look" - the colors, tones, - and so sharp.

Lucky for me, the 70-200 can shoot from quite a distance so I only got caught once. He didn't look too happy.

Yes they are unprocessed. Also, vignetting is apparent at lower focal lengths on both the 70-200 and the 14-24. I shoot more portrait so it isn't a concern for me, but it is there.

I love em :) Can't wait to get my hands on the D3 :)
