Yesterday was the Herbts Terrible 400. This is without a doubt one of the best chances for the average person who doesn't have access to press cred's to shoot motorsports. At this event you completely unrestricted to shoot from wherever you feel. You can get as close as you want or dare.

Anyway here are some shots.

I set up along the straight away and waited for the truck to get reasonably close and fired away in AI servo.

Even though in the back of your mind you knew the truck was some distance away but as it rapidly filled more and more of your viewfinder it was kind of unnerving having this thing closing in on you so fast (80+ mph) and you are almost in its path of travel.

Usually this event is a dust bowl, but the night before we had a good rain which made the some parts of the track good and muddy for shots like this.

This guy was getting some serious air time here. Just look at how much articulation the suspension on these things have.

This is one of my favorite shots of the day. It feels like its going to pop out of the frame at you.

All shot with 20D and Bigma.

Nice shots, surprised you haven't had more praise!

Oh and I whole heartedly agree with your signature again without
fully advocate the use of drugs and alcohol!

Thanks. I liked them, I thought maybe nobody else did when the thread sat there with no replies.

Maybe if I had inserted some flame about this or that piece of gear I would of got more replies. LOL

You should have put "cat" in the title. That would have drawn hundreds.

Anyway, great pictures.

Or maybe really juice up the title to something like, "Pictures of my cat desert off-road racing who only shoots jpeg and not Raw with a Nikon and post processes them on a Mac, not a PC". That would of drawn some interest. LOL

Thanks for the comment.

Well we both know they would have looked better if they'd been taken
with a Nikon camera, much less dusty!

LOL! Don't pick that scab off. Your likely to start another flame war on the forum. Lord knows there has been a shortage of threads about that tired debate.;-)
