Digital Painting Re-visited(IMG. lg.)

That is very nice indeed. Could you or someone else post a link to the original "how-to."
While I still have not attempted to download the Gimp program that
Trent McDonald suggested, I have tried out his method of painting
through layers. As they are rather large I will post only one at a
time with a link to the original size . Comments welcome (good,
bad or indifferent). Thank you.
Leslie

Good Morning Robert,
Here is the link..

I have several older programs that each have their own merit. I would get one effect, take it back to PS in a new layer and work on it until I got the effects I wanted, doing as Trent said, erasing here and there...most of it was done in PS, but I will admit to using the buzzpro plugin that Laurie Sokoloff told me about ( link to follow) and a photobrush program that Will Walton told me about. I used that to get the "coloring" I was looking for. That program has a filter simulation plugin that is indespensible for me to learn about filters. Thanks again, Robert.

I forgot one of the most important elements! I used a WOW Impasto fill on a totally separate layer. That is what created the brush strokes. I did that several times changing opacity and erasing here and there...sorry about that.

Thanks, Nick.

It really is my first love...learning photography is my second. Thanks again for viewing....Leslie

Aloha Leslie,

Thanks for popping in to view my gallery... Funny, the second one you chose is one I just put up today! A friend of mine just opened up her business at that little "Hawaiian Shack" and asked if I would shoot some photos... Now the "artified" version you see is becoming greeting cards and prints...

I really like your feathered friend treatment. Very painterly. And your flower treatment is just great. Some people frown on this kind of photoshop manipulation of photos, saying it isn't photography. Well, it isn't! It is a whole new form of expression, and offers such opportunity to be creative... Keep it up, and I will too, and we'll continue sharing...

Mahalo,
GP
