City-night in the rain (tak smc 50/1.4, Tamron 24/2.5)

what aperture were you shooting these at? either the DOF is too shallow ot you got shaky hands, they dont seem sharp enough for my tastes.

The swallow DOF was on purpose, I tried to get the bad weather rather than than a particular subject. The camera was on a tripod.

From what I remember the exposure in the last one was 20 seconds, I walked in the picture and stood still for about 10 seconds.

I really like the 3rd shot (the one with shallow depth of view). Have you tried turning that into B/W to see which one give you more atmosphere?

cheers

Thanks- it's my favorite, too. I like the yellow, though since for me thats part of a foggy night in the city. On the other hand trying to get some grain and giving it flat contrast with lots of black... I will start working on it.

It would be so much easier in a photo-lab though, I just got a spotmatic F and try to find time to go 'retro' to b/w film. But than finding or setting up a photolab and spending time on developing- though it is a lot of fun, too and you don't have to hassle with these darn printers which never give the color on the screen.

I like 3 & the last one best. You might try playing with your white balance too if you shot in raw. I find them all a bit orange for my taste.
