I just purchased a A650 camera, boxed with an MP470 color printer and 1gb SD card for a net cost of 339.99 at Costco. The normal price is $389,99, and there is a $50 instant rebate good thru this weekend.

Wish Costco did not have the printer & it would be another 50$ off. They used to sell A640+printer at the store for 50$ more their online store which came with a SD card.

My sentiments exactly. But that's one way Canon can sell that printer that's not getting too many takers, otherwise. Those are nice convenient printers but with little versatility (control). Most who do their own printing already have their own controllable work flow setup. Too bad, for $290, I'd already have an A650.

Thanks for the heads-up. I let my wife know about this deal last night, and she made an expedition today. I guess there's not going to be much of a surprise next month (at least I hope not), but it's a good price, and she actually can use the printer herself (I have an iP4300, so I'm set in that department).

I am tempted! I usually take closeups indoors of my kids with flash, so the 6x Zoom may be not that useful. However will the IS add any extra value over A640?

My other worry is now my pictures are 3-4M with A640. I guess with A650 it will be 5-6M.

Guess I am trying to find some justification before I succumb to temptation - I have a day more!

the fith digit in the serial # on the outside of the camera box was 0 with a blue sticker beside it...

so I will wait after the holidays

yeah, it's faster & neater now...
but I still prefer horses!

The camera I bought Friday (first post of this thread) had a 1 in the fifth digit of the serial number. So far, I see no evidence of light leaks. It did have a blue sticker on the box, but I don't know if that means anything.
