Due to their high price there were not many camera stores that carried them. My wife bought one through her work, and we bought one. I knew a couple dozen others who had bought them in Atlanta back then. Never saw a figure for how many total were produced. They were available not only as the Minolta RD175 but as the Agfa Actioncam.

I bought one!!!! This one belong to an an R&D engineer at Minolta and come with working memory cards. He said image quality still pretty good compare with today's standards. It should arrive at my house sometime next week.

I had one, ended up putting it on EBay... It is very large, and bulky compared to my 7D with grip. It had a SCSI connection, which I was able to make work, although I had a 500MB PC card hard drive that I used most of the time for storage. Batteries were never a problem for me, but again, something special to deal with.

I believe its a 1.3 MB camera, and while I'd say it was good for its day, I'd be hard pressed to say it's good compared to what's available in DSLR technology now. I should dredge up some photos and post for comparison purposes... :)

Sure, post the photos

1.8 mp, interpolated from three 0.8mp (or so) CCDs, using offset.

I have one I am working on getting working (many of them sold now have no memory).

I was recently given one of these cameras with a Minolta 50mm lens, a Sigma 14mm 1:3.5 lens, 131mb pcmcia drive, scsi cable. The only thing missing is the battery charger. One of the power cords is there but no charger. I was told it worked perfectly before the department that had it closed and the people reassigned. What is this camera worth on the market if I were to sell it?

Thanks for your help

About $150.00

Thanks. I know these were expensive (like all electronics). Good point on selling the 2nd lens separately.

Oh, I didn't see the 50mm lens. Probably a macro? Sell it seperately as well.

A 50 macro (depending on version) will go for $150+, the 14mm not sure, but probably the same.

You may clear almost $500 on the lot.

I still need to set up mine to get a working memory card, then I'll be selling mine as well.
