i work for ritz and have a d300 pre-ordered.

i just called in to change mine to an overnight.

found out

wednesday they are shipping to stores overnight to arrive on friday!!!!!!!!!!!

i have worked at ritz in richmond va for 6 years now.

i am a big nikon geek. i know the different people at ritz express. this woman was one of our good people.

i told her..you know i have to go put this all over the internet now right???

she said - laughing don't do that it's supposed to be a surprise.

... they will fill 8/23 and 8/24 this week.... My order on 8/25 will have to wait for second batch due ten days later.

mine was 9/6 she said it was in the first batch.

no way the first two days of pre-order exceeds the first shipment. the d200 didn't come close to that .

first several weeks of pre-orders were met in the first shipment

he said they didn't have any information from Nikon when they were going to receive the D300. Ordered Sept 8, #1770479, So I should get mine Friday?

1. i did not end up changing my shipping to overnight. i was told i didn't need to.

2. i called that number it is for ritzcamera.com. ritz camera.com and ritz camera stores are two different entities with different wearhouses. they pay taxes differently.

3. no matter what shipping you asked for if your in the first batch friday.
sept 8th i think you wiill get it friday.

Sooo, this is for those folks who placed orders at Ritz locations...doesn't apply to those who ordered on-line.
Any info regarding on-line orders?

just talked to ritz customer support.

he said about half of the on-line order will be shipped out with the first batch on monday.

he won't tell me what place in line I was in tho - -;;
 
yeah the online is a different entity.

i work in a store. so that's all i can speak for.

i would be surprised if ritzcamera.com isn't doing something similar. but i also wouldn't be surprised if they had 5 times the pre-orders or more.

i am pretty sure the first month of in store orders will ship. at least first 2 weeks

I CAN'T WAit.

Hey Nick,

I just stopped by Ritz's brand new store in Rockville, MD this past weekend. I was mightly impressed by the DSLRs from ALL major brands in display, along with many impressive lenses as well. The sales guy there told me that store is the second largest in the U.S.

For forum people here talking about all kind of lenses, it's really refreshing that I don't need to travel to NYC to really see the sizes of some most popular lenses (17-55, 18-200 VR, the names go on and on), Nikon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina...

Whao! I got an eye feast last weekend there!

yeah it's funny i have hardly been to any of the big stores. over the past six years i have been to the ultra store in dc like 3 times at the most.

a few others just once while traveling. most kinda not so great.

i'd love to see the showroom store and the one you are mentioning.

Ritzcamera stores, and ritzcamera.com/wolfcamera.com

share the same wharehouse...that has nothing to do with them paying taxes differently...

call ritz express, and ask them for yourself...
 
i've been told otherwise by the same people. and the people from online.

actually...i remember i almost bought a d2xs. and the store wearhouses had it in stock but when i tried to buy it online there wearhouse didn't have it in-stock. that's when it was explained to me how it worked. they do in fact use different wearhouses. or at least different inventories they can pull from.
