C&C welcome.

Your humor refreshing!!!!! Your images fantastic!!!!!! Thanks for eliciting a good laugh!!

Very creative Mike, a very good set..and your leaves look happy!!

Robin-Lee :O)

the two with the wheel are very nice......

Noticed your lens cap is running free. I ended up losing mine when it dropped from a great height taking it off one day. I now have a replacement with a lens cap holder glued on it. Just a thought.

Thanks, Robin. Glad ya had a giggle. Little Zoe, who's thrilled because it's so easy to find an empty picnic table these days, was watching from the sidelines...

P.S. - Saw your thank you in today's POTD Winner thread. You're welcome. ; )

Excellent shots, Mike. I particularly like the wheel-barrel shots. I like the second of those two the best. Brought to you by...

What do you mean no leaves were harmed?!!! The proof is in the second photo! I've never seen such violence!
Nice photos, by the way!

Every time I grabbed my camera for a quick shot I'd throw my lens cap somewhere in a hurry. The cap is now tied onto my camera because I was tired of looking for it.

Thanks, Raf. Val was the Executuve Producer on those. ; )

The little wheelbarrow normally sits holding a large potted hibiscus on the back deck. When she saw me taking pictures, she suggested the setting. Worked out OK, I think, though not sure which has more eye appeal.

Both Megan's FZ7 and Val's FZ8 came with a strong string. Why they wouldn't do the same thing for the FZ50 is beyond me. I keep meaning to see if I can get one from Panasonic. If I'm lucky, they'll have a Parts Dept. here in the GTA somewhere. Or at the camera store. I think of it each time I take it off, then promptly forget once the first picture is taken. One of these days...

Thanks for the feedback,
mike

LOL!! this is true!! RL
C'mon, you guys are ganging up on me. If nothing else, 45 years in radio taught me to be careful with my words. As you'll recall, Bill Clinton had it honed to a fine art during the impeachment proceedings. Here's the quote:

"No leaves were harmed during the filming of these Images."

As I walked under the small chestnut tree beside the large maple that generated all of these golden leaves, I noticed the picture you saw, exactly as the leaf had fallen before I strode out the back door. Nature can be cruel but, hey, the leaf was a goner, anyway. Perhaps it was better that way, at least for the photographer...

Glad you liked the pictures, Sandy. Robin, behave!

Thank you, Daniel. That helps in picking a favourite. I think the additional green in the garden above the leaves adds a bit of contrast. Like them both, though, so put the two up to see if anybody would pick one or t'other.
Be well,
mike

Nice try...you're as credible as Clinton, I'm sure! So, does that mean you didn't step on any leaves either, during the filming I mean?

We'll let you get away with it, but next time...

love the colors and light bigtime
Appreciate your comments, Rick. There was a little bit of sun sneaking through the high cloud. Would have been happier if there'd been just a bit more. They were taken in the back yard, in three batches, so I'd take about 20, bring 'em in, download them and look at the results, then head back out. As it turned out, there are two from each batch, so I didn't change anything.

Exposure Comp: 0. Focus: Manual, but used the one-touch AF button in each case. Contrast: Soft; Saturation: Normal; Sharpness: Hard, and NR: Low.

I'm still playing with the settings. Recently bumped up the colour from Soft to Default, just to see what that would do, but the others have stayed static since Day Two. Lately, after Rafael noted a few blown lighlights, I've been paying more attention to the WB and EV, with better results.
Love this forum for the info and suggestions more than anything.

Be well, Rick,
mike

UNCLE !!

Well no one can accuse your leaf shots of not being leafy.
And I wouldn't dream of trying.

I like them very much.
Thanks, Mike. That back corner maple is just about done for the year, so the rakes beckon. Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Beautiful picture of Zoe Mike...I can just imagine what she's was thinking watching you all out there!!

1. That's no way to catch a mouse!
2. They need a better mouse trap, that rake isn't going to work!
3. Why would one need such a large wheel barrow for such a small mouse!

4. If they do find a mouse under those leaves, wonder if they'll let me play with it.

5. Who cares, I have the best seat in the yard..and watching them try to catch a mouse...is better than...well...Ratatouille!

Robin-Lee
ps. She's probably happy she wasn't the "Clinton White House" cat! :O)

Funny you should mention that, Robin-Lee. We just watched the movie Saturday night. Probably our imaginations but both cats seemed to perk up in their perches atop the back of the couch.

Zoe loves to go after tiny bugs in the yard, pouncing on them much as a fox would. I'm going to try to get some pics of her doing that in the future. She does her dive, then quickly looks around to make sure the bug is under her front paws and not flying away. In the meantime, she very delicately tiptoes through that leafy section, as if it were snow. Quite the little princess. ; )

Thanks, Tim. Think I like the last one, too. Appreciate your opinion and the fact that you took the time to look.
Be well,
mike
