Don't you just hate it when something like a $249.00 price offer for the Pany F18 pops up.
Was perfectly happy last night reading through the forum as I usually do - agonizing over whether I want the Canon G9, S5 or the Pany F18. Of course, this has only been going on for the last couple of months - hours at a time "researching" the best possible camera to replace my aging and deteriorating Canon G2. Did I mention, I also have the Canon 420 flash, which added fuel to the fire. I use the flash with bounce and a white flap and get excellent people pictures. Then again, I don't have much of a choice since the flash has been gone on the G2 for the last 2 years.
However, $249,00 smacks you right in the face and I couldn't pass it up. My credit card is still smoking from the fast action. When I ordered there were only 2 left. Add a memory card and expedited shipping - geez - now I have to have this baby in my hands quick.
One thought I used to justify this "impulse" buy - with the wide angle and long tele on the Pany - it's cheaper and lighter than buying 2 Rayvox extenders for the Canons, and I have a "backup" if for some crazy reason this same type of sale ever happens with a Canon. How's that for rationalizing a quick buy!
I have never dealt with Vanns, so I ordered through Amazon. Just hope it's not some returned product with problems.
Since I live in Juarez, Mexico which is a photographers candy store - I can't wait for this baby to get here. If it weren't for all the positive opinions and great ideas posted in this forum, I'd probably still be using the G2.
Thanks guys and gals - the info is wonderful and the people great in this Pany forum.
