Daniel Craig: WHY waste energy on HIM?

I’m curious, WHY are we're all wasting so much time on Daniel Craig?

After checking out his picture gallery, I realize what an unqualified photo critic he really is. When I read his rude response to my 1st G2 pictures:

“Do you want the truth? I didn’t think so”, I thought ‘he was just some insensitive pro photographer, but now after seeing what he produces, I just LAUGH in digust. This guy is just an internet troll looking for attention any way he can get it (and apparently succeeding).

I’m really GLAD now, that he thought that my pictures have “no play on light” , “no clear and interesting subjects to behold” and that my pictures “do not really show off my cameras abilities”. I think there may be HOPE for me in digital photography afterall.

i guess partly because it is fun and he invites it on himself. i knew a kind in school like that, he had arms like tooth picks, a gentle breeze can knock him over, passing nuns, would try to break his arm, because it was so thin and frail, they just wanted to try it. this kid would start trouble with anyone he saw. bigger the better. not sure how he never wound up in the hospital, but boy was he strange.

this guy is kind of like that.

and now that we know what he can do, and what level he's on, we know how to take his comments.

simply take whatever he says and reverse it. simple as that. you'll quickly know his true meaning, if he say there is too much light, then there is just the right amount. etc.

I tried to express about all of your sentiments in my "Don't Respond" message at http://www.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1010&message=2537052 .

It didn't do much good there and I think it is because Daniel is becoming very entertaining. I really don't know though if I should be laughing or feeling sorry for him. As someone said it seems he is a bit short of a shilling and the more I learn about him the more I think he does have some sort of a real problem possibley beyond his control.

Anyway his comments, pictures and web site have provided me and my friends with with some big grins.

BTW, there is no more ringing an endorsement of one's photography than to have Daniel declare it boring, garbage or whatever deragatory term he comes up with.

I think he is some kind of genius! Usually in a forum if someone says the kind of things he does people do ignore him. However this guy is getting people to talk about him. Hes getting his OWN posts!! people are saying things like why waste energy on him and then typing out a novel on why we shouldnt waste energy :) and now look at me- typing about daniel craig :) I say just the opposite- If you can get Dan Craig to say something good about your photos- you got it made :)

I personally hope he doesnt go away- he livens things up in here :) And the harsh truth is that a lot of what he points out isnt pleasant to hear but does have some basis in truth-( no offense intended to anyone)
I think he is sitting home somewhere just lauging his a$$ off- I know I am :)

Not really, as I was talking about ingoring his goofy hypothesis and don't get drawn into senseless arguments with him.

I am beginning to find him more and more amusing and think it is great to keep him around this forum as a kind of pet or our "resident crazy".

Even though his critiques mean nothing to me I would like to see whatever pic of yours he really likes!

sorry I wasnt meaning you - I was talking about scottyee- this thread he started is entitled Daniel Craig- why waste energy on him - and then he goes on to waste energy :)
I have yet to hear from daniel but im hoping he doesnt ignore me any longer :)

My intention is not to offend anyone, Its just amusing to watch the latest updates of daniel!

Ok, ok, guys & gals:

Since I started this thread in the first place, I guess I'd better end it on this note. I'll admit now, that I too have been getting laughs from Daniel's remarks (even the ones directed towards me) as well as those pictures he's posted . His face is quickly reaching celebrity status here and I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually see him on Letterman or Leno as the first internet spawned personality, ala Pee Wee Herman. I think Daniel may be shrewder than we all thought.

I gotta say that, while I think Daniel could have been more tactful in his comments to you, I'm inclined to agree with what he said. If you don't want people to make negative comments about your pictures, don't post them. You might want to take a look at photo.net Some of the critics there can get downright nasty!

Hi Chris,

I certainly can handle negative comments, but only if they are backed up with 'contructive' suggestions. After reading Daniel's critique, I sensed the only reason he responded was just to 'draw attention' to HIMSELF. I tend to respect the opinion of someone whose style of photography I admire. After viewing Daniel's pics, I realize that he and I have a different 'take' on photography.

Thankfullly, other forum members here, who posted on that same thread, provided some helpful 'constructive' comments which I will work towards applying in my future photographs.

Being a newbie to digital photograhy, I'm definitely not qualified to offer critical comment, but I did enjoy seeing your 1st pics at PacBell Park & the shots at Tierra Bella. I live in the SF area, but I've never heard of or been to Tierra Bella. Where is that? Sounds like it could be a nice weekend getaway.

Tierra Bella is a bicycle ride (this year was the 25th annual) in the Morgan Hill/Gilroy area. The pictures were taken in the area of Gilroy Hot Springs.

Being new to digital photography (or photography of any sort) does not preclude you from offering criticism. This is supposed to be art, not technology.

Why should I do that? You are one of the few around here who hasn't gone off on the deep end. Funny thing--just about everyone who has said that they hate my photographs have pointed out one that they do like--and a different one each time!!! Amazing! I have withheld putting up my very best shots hahahaha. Now that I know that most people like my average shots, maybe I'll wait a while longer before putting up my best--by then I will have more to show anyway. And do you see how that Lisa Neal is behaving? Not very lady-like if you ask me. She has seen my infamous mug and has made no compliment for sure--but no put downs either. What am I getting at? Notice that she has no bravery to put her mug up. Indeed, most of my detractors have not shown their face. Only one dared to--but he was on MY side. I can only imagine what monstosities they are hehehehe. I bet not a single one of them is under 300lbs--which I think is like 16 stones for you british folks. I have written a renown poem for women like Lisa--if she pushes me much further I will be inclined to type it out. I'm just about ready to make her really weep!!!

and is there some reason you act like a total @ss on this group, and yet on your ezboard group, newsgroups, you sort of act normal? is there something about talent that bother's you?

oh and i meant to ask a while ago, in enon, ohio, what do you teach?

For those people here in the forum that have given me advice or I have been able to help them in some way, they have seen my photos. As I said before -- you are not the center of my world -- worthy of no admiration. I am a happily married woman to an attractive, well-built, muscular man that does not resemble you in the least. None of those adjectives come to mind when I think of you. What's the matter, you have to find the woman in the bunch to pick on? You don't know who I am -- you surely cannot make me weep unless you post another picture of yourself!

In case you forgot --- I didn't state that I liked any of your photos. I stopped at image number two on the critique because it was going to get repetitious.
