In fact, already paid for it. Ordered it the second that Warehouse Express advertised it on the day of its announcement.

HOWEVER, I shan't unpack anything until I've decided it's worth it paid for it.

Good old Warehouse. So far, I've sent back:

a Canon 5D and kit lens
two Metz flashguns
a Nikon D40
a Nikon lens

They never bat an eye-lid.

I think it's VERY unlikely I'll be returning the D300. If it's one stop better on noise and SLIGHTLY higher resolution, PLUS it doesn't keep switching from 'Single' to 'Continous' without my permission (as my D200 does), and doesn't slurp batteries like orange juice, then I'll be MORE than delighted.

and biggest scam artists around. Do you ever check reseller ratings to find these things out. Here's the link on Broadway Photo - beware young man, beware!!!

http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Broadway_Photo

Read some of the complaints. So if you want to order from these folks, be prepared to:

A. Not have it in stock but charge you and you may have to wait a long time.

B. And if in stock, they then try to sell you the items that come wit the camera in the box - as extra accessories.

Avoid these people like the plague and what's funny is that they'll have employees pose as buyers and then put down great reviews on reseller-ratings.com. Ya gotta love it.

And the list goes on....

Good shooting...

Good joke. Save money with Broadway. THAT'S the ticket.

These guys should be behind bars.

Smart answer, but it implies that you can go on scamming people until everybody stops ordering. That is quite a legal system you have (do it yourself), so I guess you also have to write out your own parking ticket.
Save money: fire the policedepartment, they seem useless.

Broadway photo and anyone else offering "unique" discounts on a Nikon and Canon gear are SCAM websites. It's easy enough to check. You will not get a D300 for 40% off, or even 20% off.

If that were the case every authorized dealer would go out of business in a week.

No free rides. Cheers,

Thomas

Why are they not shut down.
Because they pay for and get protection from local law enforcement?

What Broadway and others like them do is not illegal, but immoral and unscrupulous. If you are willing to pay them for accessories included in the box, and they told you they were charging for those items, then I guess it isn't illegal. I wonder why Nikon doesn't take them off the dealer list and stop shipping to them so they won't have anything to scam people with. Dave

Because being sly with words and descriptions, terms and conditions, etc, is not illegal. Neither is telling the customer, "I'm sorry, I made a mistake. We don't have that lens stock yet. I thought we did, and I'm sorry that I didn't check more carefully. Maybe you can look at this other, slightly more expensive option...."

If they want to tell their customers such suspect things, then that's their business. It may not be a highly moral business method, but hey, it seems to work for them. I don't think trying to up-sell their products is illegal, either.

Hmm.... Just been reading that (thanks for the link).

Well, at least I returned mine always within 24 hours!

Interesting how the 5D has been do devalued and is being sold for a song. The D200 is also being flogged off rather cheaply, though...

I got the point, but still I got no answer to my question: Why are
they not shut down.
