Out and about with D60 & 100-400L

Steve,

Heh, now that's a nice rationalization! It really is a great lens, very versatile for all sorts of outdoor/decent light photography.

As I explained to my wife last night (kind of setting the stage),
to me it's sort of like getting a new vision correction from your
eye doctor. You THOUGHT everything looked fine, but when the
correction was tweeked a bit you realized just how much your eyes
had weakened.

Are you talking about a teleconverter? If so, yes, Canon has two of them; a 1.4x and a 2x. The 1.4x doesn't cause much loss in quality, if any - it really is a good option. The 2x will cause some loss, but again, if you have to get the focal length, it's a decent way to go. Note that you will lose 1 stop of light with the 1.4x, and two stops with the 2x. On the D30/D60, you will also lose autofocus with both the TC's on the 100-400L IS lens.

does canon sell any add ons to increase the distance from 400mm?
and if so doo u lose sharpness?

Do it Steve, if you need me to talk with your wife let me know. I can be convincing. Of course I have no one to answer to so I buy what I want or what I cannot afford...
