I have an opportunity to purchase a new C3000 (with full warranty) for less than $200. Is that a good deal...? Is it a decent camera?

Here is my situation...I own a E10 and love it. I want to get a camera for my husband and eight year old son to use on an everyday basis. They want a camera that is "compact" and easy to use. My son is a good photographer. I want to get him something that he can have fun with without the expense of developing film. After I got my E10, I let him use my 35mm camera. He had a blast, but I almost went broke!

Is the C3000 a durable camera? Have there been problems with it? Would you jump on this deal or put that $200 toward a newer model camera?

I appreciate any assistance you can lend!

Thanks,
KarenLee

apologies if this arrives twice, had an error first time but who knows?! ;-)

I love my 3000z KarenLee. It's very easy to use and great fun. Gives good sharp photos with very true colour. At that price you can't go wrong IMHO. NiMh rechargeables last a reasonable time. It's a tough as any digital camera, I think (I've dropped it twice, from waist height, with no ill effects but would prefer not to do it again!) only thing I'd say is that the lens cap is a pain, it falls off at the slightest provocation. I'm sure your son will have fun with it, and you might even find yourself borrowing it from time to time ;-)
good luck!

Fabulous price ... I use that camera almost every day and love it. I'd buy ten at that price.--Ergo ( Erg - To My Friends )' The good old days...when a Hoover was really a Hoover...and lingerie wasn't just something your wife never wore. ' 3DTIM 3/31/02
