Canon S200 - Dell deal

Just received another delay notification...this time will be 4/26.

Interestingly Dell asked for an email to notify that I will keep this order in place. If they do not receive a reply by 4/14, the order will be automaticly cancelled.

Dan, It sounds like Dell may have made a pricing/promo mistake on this deal - so much so that they did not label the S200 as "out of stock" but removed it completely from their site. You got a great deal so hang in there! I just wish I could still get in on that deal!

When I order May 13th was that ship date they emailed me. Oh, well I just got my G2 to pricematch so I have a toy to play with.

I'm not sure that is the Dell part number - maybe the order #?
Typically it has six digits. Ex:"Dell Part# 304725" for the S110.

That's the SKU. The order number is a 9-digit number.

I just checked my Dell online order status, and my S200 est. ship date still says 4/13 (today). I originally ordered it on 3/31 ($289 including 2 day shipping/no tx) with est ship date of 4/3. Got a delay notification from Dell on 4/2 which delayed est ship date to 4/13.

I have yet to receive any email from Dell informing of yet another est ship date change or any kind of order cancellation warning either. I'm now wondering if Dell might be trying to pull a fast one and automatically drop my order now, even though they haven't notified me of what appears to be yet another shipping delay. Is this legal? I'm peplexed. Anyone else here not received the recent delay notification 'dsun' got either?

Order confirmation : on or before 4/1/02
1st delay notification : on or before 4/15/02
2nd delay notification : delayed until 4/26/02 (must send consent by 4/14/02)

This makes sense as some NY sellers list 4/25 as the estimated ship date.

I'm buying this camera as an upgrade to my S100. So don't mind at all wait for a great deal eventually come thru. Let's be fair, if Canon doesn't release S200 to the merchants, what can Dell do ?

I received the "consent confirmation" email, but all it gave was an 800 number to call. I tried today (Saturday) to get through their circuitous phone system but wasn't successful. I replied to the email but it was bounced back. I don't see any automated way to "confirm" on their web site either. Am I missing something that I should be doing? If I don't take care of it today, I will give up...

I don't see why any company would give a near impossible consent comfirmation unless they are backing out. One would think that most companies would hope that their customers don't drop out after a sale - Unless they made a big mistake. IMHO

I don't know the part no. But I know it's not listed on their website anymore. Simply call Dell.com and ask the sales rep to search for it. It's a good deal at Dell. You get 10 per cent plus $25 stackable discount plus free shipping, if it's still available.

I ordered my S300 from Dell on 3/31 and the lastest estimated ship date was 4/13.

I still haven't received any kind of email from them telling me that I must call and re-confirm my order, or risk them canceling it, but I did just check my online order status a few minutes ago, and it now says: "Delayed Call for latest ETA"

Anyone else's S200 Dell order say something similar to mine? I guess I'm going to have to call Dell tomorrow morning (Monday) to find out what's going on. I hope the $289 deal still holds.

It says the same for me too. To be fair to Dell, it does not look like the S200 is out anywhere from anyone.

But they better honor their offer
