FYI Canon to announce Fix to 1D MK III Focusing issues This week

I have been talking to Canon Factory reps since last Friday. A week after my iD mk III came back working just fine, NOT, but that is a long rant that i will not get into here.. Seems they have finally found the reason for the inconsistent focusing issues. I do not have the details. Look for an announcement this week stating that they have found a defective part to the mirror. They should be contacting current owners as they get new parts at the repair centers. I hear that the target date for repairs to start happening is end of october 2007.
