Your Backyard, Sacred Place or Perch photos (E,R,R,A)

Thanks DomDP...

I believe there will have to be a paradigm shift in our thinking at some point...maybe it will be "free or subsidize housing and food for the masses" in very well landscaped garden areas to offset the lust for areas that only get destroyed...Some of this is actually starting in the mid-cities and inner cities areas where people have left behind "war zone" lookng areas....then reclaim more of the natural area for forests, parks and natural areas... perhaps allow special housing that is environmentally safe and easy on the eyes.

It might be 100-200 yrs before this happens...

:) Thanks Lucy for sharing...that's a very lovely photo of a pretty spot.

I remember a place like that when I was very young and lived in Killeen...

It came alive for a short time after a spring or summer rain...other times it was on hold or in stasis...a frozen in time - dormant state.

I wonder if you got down really low to the ground...I bet you could find a whole new universe of subjects there to photograph!

:)
Okay...I'll play, too..........here is a spot in the back of our
property...it looks like this after 5-6 inches of rain...otherwise,
it's kind of puny! A nice little
hideaway........ http://www.pbase.com/image/1093731/medium.jpg

hmmmmm......now that I can use my close-up lenses with my C3020, I just may have to go back down there and see what I can 'see.' Have to bring something to scrunch down on so I don't get my knees soaked or pricked from the briars..and a good sturdy stick to help me get up again....good tip RichO! I'll let you know if I find something....

Some may have read my other post. Sorry for being on campaign, but
I have never been accuse of NOT being passionate... :)

I wanted to post this the other night with a plea and opportunity
for you to post a photo or link to a gallery of photos of your
backyard favorite spot, sacred place or perch that you love and
want to see stay around forever.
...ok, it's NOT pretty - but it's the backyard of a home I adore and bought last year to share with the guy I love (ahhhhhh ;-)

I waited a long time to see his laundry on the washing line - LOL!

Just out of view, about 400 yards away, the State has acquired the land for a highway that's been planned for over 20 years. WE moved here 13 years ago and, fortunately, the liklihood of it ever being built diminishes every year. Its a beautiful spot where the brook makes a big "S" w/ a natural swimming hole. Its now become the most photographed spot in Southern NH since I acquired my UZI....

I haven't posted any pictures yet on this forum, but that's a pretty good shot Rich. I'll post some shots as they come.

I will start again with a modification....kind of a weird
pano...actually two shots from two perspectives merged
together...but oddly enough it came out pretty accurate view...

To add a bit of spice to this you can include funny photos of
animals at your special place...or like in my case different and
unusual photo creations...art or manipulations or filters etc..
like IR. I just ask that it be a natural wild or landscaped park,
botanical area etc...So us what you can do or show us your passion
or both... Dedicate it to someone, something, flower etc... :)

:) Any place where love is has the most beauty view of life.
Every tree that stands stong to the wind brings hope of new life for us...

Interesting that even in the small green patch of nature there is life abundant...but underneath a concrete parking there is little that can live.
:)
Thanks for sharing this with us...
